GOBIGBLUE: A winning tradition since 1976.
The athletic program of Mira Mesa High School is a dynamic integral part of the educational experience. It provides meaningful learning opportunities not otherwise offered in the classroom curriculum. It assists students in developing habits, attitudes, and ideals necessary for ethical competition and cooperation in our society. It also provides them with lifelong lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, ethical behavior, perseverance, commitment, loyalty, self-discipline, pride, cooperation, responsibility, and leadership skills. Every student at Mira Mesa has the opportunity to try-out for a team if you meet the requirements of the San Diego City Schools and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

Three times a year, corresponding with the fall, winter, and spring sport seasons, U-T San Diego publishes the names of the varsity senior and junior student-athletes with a cumulative and weighted GPA of 3.0 and above and compete in a CIF approved sport. Cumulative GPA's include all semesters starting with the fall of freshman year. Weighted GPA's include honors classes weighted on a 5.0 scale. Certificates for each student are mailed to the school. Congratulations to our Varsity Seniors and Juniors Student Athletes who have a Cumulative Weighted GPA of 3.0 and above
